Net Inspector lets you create a hierarchical structure of maps within a user view and add devices to these maps (e.g., to keep related devices in the same map).
This topic describes how to add maps (also called submaps) to a user view.
Note: Only users with administrator access rights are permitted to add new (sub)maps to Net Inspector.
From the User view drop-down list in the upper-right section of the Net Inspector header, select the user view you wish to add maps to (see the figure below).

Click the Devices tab in Net Inspector header to display the Devices page.
In the upper-right section of the Devices frame, click the Configure button (as shown in the figure below) to enter the Configuration Mode.

In the Explorer section of the Map View frame, select the map (e.g., the root map or any other map), which you would like to add a new (sub)map to, and click the Add Submap button, as shown in the image below.

The New Submap dialog box appears, prompting you to enter the name for the (sub)mao. Specify the name for the new submap and click the OK button.

The new submap is added as a child map of the selected (root) map - as shown in the the Explorer section of the Map View frame. The submap icon is also added to the currently displayed map in the main section of the Map View frame (see image below).

The new submap is added as a child map of the selected (root) map - as shown in the Explorer (left) section of the Map View frame. The submap icon is also added to the currently displayed map in the main (right) section of the Map View frame (see the image above).
By repeating the above procedure, you can add more (sub)maps to the user view, e.g., to create a hierarchical structure of maps according to your preferences (se an example in the figure below).

When
you have finished adding submaps, click the Save All Maps Layout button () in the Graphics
toolbar
in the Map View frame to save the changes.
Click the Configure
toggle button ()
in the upper-right section of the Devices frame to exit the Configuration
Mode.
After configuring the submaps, you can add devices to maps. If devices already exist in Net Inspector, you can add therm from the Device Panel, as described in Adding Devices to Submaps from Device Panel topic. If devices do not exist in Net Inspector yet, you can add them in several ways (e.g, network discovery, virtualization discovery, manually, etc.), as described in the Adding Devices to Net Inspector topic.
